🤝 Profit Sharing for Creators
When you host your podcast with Barracks Media on a plan that includes profit sharing, you participate in a monthly revenue pool. It’s simple, transparent, and based on your show’s share of total downloads for the month.
The Pool
30% of monthly revenue from hosting subscriptions on plans that include profit sharing is set aside for creators in the program. Refunds are excluded.
Your Share
Your payout is proportional to your share of total downloads across all eligible shows for that month.
Payouts
A $25 minimum applies. If your monthly earnings are < $25, they roll over until the threshold is met.
Eligibility
- You must be on a Barracks Media hosting plan that includes profit-sharing benefits.
- Your podcast must be approved per our content standards (see Terms). Shows promoting pornography or hate are not eligible.
- Your RSS feed and analytics must remain active and in good standing.
How we calculate your payout
- We total all hosting subscription receipts for profit-sharing plans for the month (after refunds).
- We set aside 30% of that total as the Creator Pool.
- We compute each eligible show’s share of total downloads for the month.
- Your payout =
(Your Downloads ÷ All Eligible Downloads) × Creator Pool. - If your accrued balance is ≥ $25, we pay out; otherwise, your balance rolls over.
Example
Suppose profit-sharing hosting receipts for the month total $10,000.
- Creator Pool = 30% × $10,000 = $3,000
- All eligible downloads this month = 100,000
- Your show’s downloads = 7,500
- Your share = 7,500 / 100,000 = 7.5%
- Your payout = 7.5% × $3,000 = $225 (meets the $25 minimum → paid)
FAQs
What counts as a download?
We use your hosting analytics (and industry-standard filters) to count valid episode downloads for the month. We may adjust for clear anomalies or fraud.
When are payouts made?
Payouts are processed monthly for balances that meet or exceed the $25 threshold. Balances below $25 roll over. We’ll follow up with instructions to set up or update your payout details.
What if I change plans?
Profit-sharing eligibility applies only while you’re on a hosting plan that includes that benefit. If you move to a non-eligible plan, you’ll stop accruing new profit-sharing after the effective date of the change.
Do you guarantee a payout?
No. Payouts depend on the monthly Creator Pool and your share of total downloads. All participation is subject to ourTerms & Conditions, including content approval and removal rights.
